Matthew has been working in the field of government security for 25+ years. He is a leading authority on order security and continues to advise ministers, senior government officials and the leadership teams of technology firms on security and terrorism-related matters.
Matthew began his career at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) where he served as a Security & Information Liaison Officer until moving to New York in 1998 to take up a post advising the Chief Executive Board of the United Nations, working in the Office of the Secretary General. In 2001, Matthew joined the aviation telecommunications firm, SITA, and developed the company’s Government & Security business until his departure in 2008. Matthew went on to create AUGMENTIQ, a consultancy firm specializing in border, aviation, transportation and homeland security.
Today, Matthew advises Chief Executives and the leadership teams of many of the industry’s highest profile
security companies. He briefs ministers and politicians on homeland security policy and is a regular commentator on security and terrorism-related issues in the media.
He is an Executive Board Member of the World Border Organization – BORDERPOL; Editorial Advisory Board Member of Aviation Security International; Advisory Board Member for Smart Borders; Strategic Advisor to and Chairman of SDW 2018; and Council Member of the IFSEC Transport Security Council. Matthew is also the Founder & Sponsor of the Security Leadership Summit.
Matthew is bilingual in English and French, speaks German and Italian, and has a working knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese.
