Sally Davey founded Tripbod.com, which became one of the world’s largest networks of vetted local travel experts. The venture focussed on developing and promoting authentic cultural experiences to visitors whilst actively supporting micro-entrepreneurship. In parallel with building her business, Sally co-founded the not-for-profit Responsible Tourism Network, hosting events on every continent for micro-entrepreneurs working at the grass roots of emerging destinations. To date the network represents 16,500 entrepreneurs and disruptors worldwide.
Tripbod.com was acquired by TripAdvisor in 2014 and since then Sally has been an active advocate internally for the group’s corporate social and environmental agenda. She was involved on the ground in the Company’s philanthropic efforts at the height of the refugee crisis, and in her role as Global Director for Industry Relations leads several of the Company’s non-commercial projects in partnership with industry and the public sector, with a focus on destination resilience and tourism dispersal.
Sally also holds an advisory board position with the Big Change education charity.
